MICHAEL MINASI

Michael is a freelance photojournalist based in Austin, and a journalism graduate student at the University of Texas.

Background

I graduated from the University of Texas at Arlington with a B.A. in communications in 2013. While completing my major I minored in fine art photography and worked for UTA's student newspaper, The Shorthorn, for four years as a photographer and photo editor. I was named 2013 Photojournalist of the Year by the Texas Intercollegiate Press Association. After graduating, I worked for 5 years with the Houston Chronicle's community news group as a staff photographer. I am also a proud member of the National Press Photographer's Association.
